Cardas is the only High-End Audio manufacturer to use Litz coated conductor strands. This enamel coating is applied when the copper is drawn to gauge or size, in an atmosphere of pure nitrogen. This prevents air from ever contacting the surface of the wire. In addition to eliminating corrosion of the copper, it insulates the strand and creates a discrete conductor for each wire strand.
